Clique cycle transversals in distance-hereditary graphs
A cycle-transversal of a graph G is a subset T ⊆ V (G) such that T ∩V (C) 6= ∅ for every cycle C of G. A clique cycle-transversal, or cct for short, is a cycle-transversal which is a clique. Recognizing graphs which admit a cct can be done in polynomial time; however, no structural characterization of such graphs is known. We characterize distancehereditary graphs admitting a cct in terms of fo...
متن کاملAlgorithms for finding clique-transversals of graphs
A clique-transversal of a graph G is a subset of vertices intersecting all the cliques of G. It is NP-hard to determine the minimum cardinality τc of a clique-transversal of G. In this work, first we propose an algorithm for determining this parameter for a general graph, which runs in polynomial time, for fixed τc. This algorithm is employed for finding the minimum cardinality clique-transvers...
متن کاملHamiltonian Cycle Problem on Distance-Hereditary Graphs
All graphs considered in this paper are finite and undirected, without loops or multiple edges. Let G = (V, E) be a graph. Throughout this paper, let m and n denote the numbers of edges and vertices of graph G, respectively. A connected graph is distance-hereditary if the distance between every two vertices in a connected induced subgraph is the same as that in the original graph. Distance-here...
متن کاملOn hereditary clique-Helly self-clique graphs
A graph is clique-Helly if any family of mutually intersecting (maximal) cliques has non-empty intersection, and it is hereditary clique-Helly (abbreviated HCH) if its induced subgraphs are clique-Helly. The clique graph of a graph G is the intersection graph of its cliques, and G is self-clique if it is connected and isomorphic to its clique graph. We show that every HCH graph is an induced su...
متن کاملCycle transversals in bounded degree graphs
In this work we consider the problem of finding a minimum Ck-transversal (a subset of vertices hitting all the induced chordless cycles with k vertices) in a graph with bounded maximum degree. In particular, we seek for dichotomy results as follows: for a fixed value of k, finding a minimum Ck-transversal is polynomial-time solvable if k ≤ p, and NP -hard otherwise.
